How many miles do you run a week?
"Between 40-60 miles a week. During the summer it is about 60 but right now its more like 40 because we need to stay healthy and keep in shape."
What is the furthest you have run in a single workout?
"The most is 16 miles."
What do you think about while you are running?
"Actually, the best time for me to think is while I'm running. It is where I am most relaxed and I can just think more clearly."
What is your favorite moment in athletics so far at Utah State?
"Well, it was really cool at WAC Championships when all nine of us stayed together in a pack for about two miles. It is pretty awesome to see a whole team run like that."
If you could play another sport, what would it be?
"It would definitely be soccer. I love soccer. I usually play defense because I am not great at dribbling with the ball but I love to kick it and I have the endurance to keep up. Most of the time when I play other sports I am able to keep up because of my endurance but I am not always the most skilled."
Do you have any pre-meet superstitions?
"Two scrambled eggs with salt and pepper. That the best breakfast if you want to do well."
Is there anything interesting about you that people might not know?
"I don't sleep with a pillow. Every once in a while I will but if I wake up in the middle of the night and think about why I am awake it is because of the pillow."
What is your favorite place/course to run at?
"I love running at home (Farmington, Utah). It is where I am most comfortable."
What does it mean to earn XC Athlete of the Year after earning Track & Field Freshman of the year?
"It is great. I knew I would do well but it is a great honor to have."
Anything that you do before/during/after a race that is uncommon?
"Sometimes during a race I yell. If there is a point when I need to push harder or to encourage my team I just yell. "
