Utah State's outdoor track & field teams continue its season next weekend at the Mountain West Championships, which will be held from Wednesday May 13 through Saturday, May 16 in San Diego, Calif. The Aggie men finished third at last year's MW Outdoor Championships, while the Aggie women placed sixth.

Utah State's men's and women's track & field teams captured 10 event titles and 27 top-five finishes last weekend at the Boise State-hosted Border Clash. It was a record-setting day for junior Parker Bluth who set the school and meet record in the 200m with a time of 20.59, topping the previous school record of 20.77 set by Nic Bowens at last year's Clash. Bluth also finished first in the 100m (10.42), then teamed up with freshman Bryson Stout, junior Tanner Hunt and junior Cole Lambourne to beat all comers in the 4x100m (40.79). Junior Kevin Allen captured two event titles in the shot put (16.45m/53-11.75) and discus (53.01m/173-11), while finishing second in the hammer (57.34m/188-01). Sophomore Devin Wright took second in the javelin (60.37m/198-01), while freshman David Hirschmann finished third in the shot put (15.60m/51-02.25) and fourth in the discus (48.32m/158-06). Other first-place finishers for the Aggies on the men's side included Cole Lambourne in the 400m (46.14), while his little brother, freshman Clay Lambourne, took fourth (47.67). The Lambourne brothers, along with Hunt and sophomore Brett McAdams, crossed the finish line first in the 4x400m (3:11.87). Other top-five finishers for the Aggie men included senior Eric Shellhorn who took second in the 800m (1:49.98), while freshman Jordan Beutler finished fourth in the event (1:51.78). Sophomore Colby Wilson took second in the 1,500m (3:54.60), while junior Tom Derr also had a second-place finish in the 5,000m (15:19.11). Junior thrower Maci Bingham led the way for the Aggies on the women's side as she captured the discus title (50.84m/166-09) and took second in the hammer (60.13m/197-03). Senior Melanie Heslop finished fourth in the hammer (56.13m/184-02). Senior Jodi Williams set the meet record in winning the high jump (1.76m/5-09.25), while sophomore Katelyn Zabriskie finished fifth in the event (1.66m/5-05.25). A pair of Aggies finished in the top three in the javelin as sophomore Mia Estes won the event (44.80m/147-00) and freshman Stephanie Crapse took third (40.76m/133-09). Other top-five finishers for the women included sophomore Tori Parkinson finishing third in the 1,500m (4:38.23), sophomore Anna Maki taking third in both the long jump (5.34m/17-06.25) and triple jump (11.17m/36-07.75) and freshman Kelsey Yamauchi finishing second in the 3,000m steeplechase (10:58.28). The 4x400m relay team of senior Laycee Elliott, junior Kaitlyn Wilcox, freshman Rachel Anderson and freshman Megan Perkins took third (3:59.87).

Utah State's softball team (16-36, 8-13) will conclude its 2015 season this weekend with a Mountain West road series at Boise State (12-39, 4-17). The two teams will play single games on Thursday and Friday at 4 p.m., and on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Utah State concluded the home portion of its season last weekend, posting an 0-3 Mountain West record against San Diego State, falling 9-3, 10-2 (5) and 10-4 over the weekend. The Aggies were led by junior pitcher Noelle Johnson who hit .625, going 5-for-8 at the plate with three doubles and two home runs. With a homer in Sunday's loss, Johnson pushed the team to 35 home runs on the season, a new single-season record. Johnson, freshman Paige Mills and sophomore Alleyah Armendariz split time in the circle, combining for a 10.32 ERA, allowing 35 hits and 29 runs. The trio walked 10 batters and struck out six. Defensively, sophomore first baseman Paxton Provost led the team with 23 putouts. As a team, USU batted .288 on the weekend with 23 hits over the three games.

Utah State's men's golf team concluded its 2015 season last weekend with a ninth-place finish with a team score of 32-over 884 (295-298-291) at the Mountain West Championship held in Tucson, Ariz. Junior golfer Seokwon Jeon shot a final round of 1-over 72 to finish in 28th-place with a 6-over 219 (71-76-72). Senior Zach Waxler tied for 30th-place at 8-over 221 (76-72-73), senior Grahm Schmaltz tied for 36th-place at 9-over 222 (76-73-73), sophomore Eli Rogers tied for 44th-place at 13-over 226 (73-80-73) and sophomore McCoy Willey tied for 48th-place at 14-over 227 (75-77-75).
