Wed.-Sat., May 11-14 --- at MW Champs., Fresno, Calif., All Day
• Utah State’s outdoor track & field teams will continue its season this weekend at the Mountain West Championships, which will be held from Wednesday, May 11 through Saturday, May 14 in Fresno, Calif. The Aggie men and women both finished fourth at last year’s MW Outdoor Championships.

• Several members of Utah State’s track & field program enjoyed a final tune-up before heading to the 2016 Mountain West Outdoor Championships, as the Aggies collected 10 top-five finishes at the Weber State-hosted Twilight Meet last Wednesday. Senior Parker Bluth highlighted USU’s showing by placing first and tying his own school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.52. Fellow senior Nic Bowens took third in the event with a 21.01 clocking. Also on the men’s side, junior AJ Boully and senior Cole Lambourne finished one-two in the 400m with times of 46.43 and 46.88, respectively. Boully’s time moved him into fourth place all-time in school history. Utah State’s 4x100m relay team consisting of Bluth, Bowens, freshman Chance Parker and sophomore Brady Martin took first in the event with a school-record time of 39.50. Freshman Samuel Wing placed first in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 54.36, while fellow freshman Leaugen Fray tied for second in the high jump with a leap of 2.01m (6-07.00). On the women’s side, freshman Whitney Wilcox placed first in the 400m with a personal-best time of 56.32 and she helped anchor the 4x400 relay team, which also consisted of senior Kaitlyn Wilcox, junior Brittany Rawlins and sophomore Breann Bate, that took first with a time of 3:47.56. Rawlins also competed in the 100m and took second with a time of 12.38.

• Utah State softball (25-23, 11-10) will conclude its 2016 season this week with four home games as it hosts BYU (33-18) in a non-conference game on Tuesday, May 10 at 5 p.m., before hosting Nevada (30-14, 8-9) in a three-game Mountain West series over the weekend. USU and UN will begin its series on Thursday, May 12 at 4 p.m., followed by another game on Friday, May 13 at 4 p.m., before concluding the series on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. Every game next week will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.

• Utah State posted a 3-3 Mountain West record last week as it went 2-1 at home against Colorado State (W 10-8, L 1-8, W 4-3), before going 1-2 at San Diego State (L 4-5, W 3-0, L 6-8). Five pitchers saw time in the circle for the Aggies, led by a 2-0 record from freshman Katie Schroeder. Offensively, junior first baseman Paxton Provost led the Aggies as she went 7-of-13 (.538) at the plate, including three home runs. Provost was also tops defensively on the week as she added 24 putouts.
