LOGAN, Utah - Utah State University Athletics Director Scott Barnes announced Thursday the addition of three new members - Scott Davis, Kirk Hansen, Kip Wadsworth - to the National Advisory Board for Aggie Athletics.
The board, which was established three years ago, provides ongoing feedback and ideas for improving USU Athletics through both communication and development operations. The purpose for establishing the National Advisory Board for Aggie Athletics is to advise, consult and serve the Athletics Department in an effort to nurture the long-term success of its sports programs, business enterprise and capital fund-raising efforts.
"We set out to recruit some of the top business leaders around who have passion for our mission and I think we hit a home run with the group we now have," said Barnes. "Their insight and support has been tremendous."
The National Advisory Board for Aggie Athletics, comprised of industry and community leaders and top donors, consists of up to twenty members serving a staggered three-year term. Board members will serve at the direction of the Athletics Director and are recruited by the Athletics Director and executive board.
The board meets twice per year before every spring football game and first home football game along with conference calls as needed.

What members are saying about their involvement with the National Advisory Board for Aggie Athletics.
"Having been involved with the NABAA since its inception, it has provided our board the opportunity to give input to the University from an outsiders perspective. In many ways, we feel that we represent the voice of the Aggie community. Our board comes from all areas of the country enabling us to provide a unique perspective to the direction of Aggie Athletics. Scott Barnes and his staff listen very intently to our suggestions and take very seriously the input various board members have provided. As a board, we have been able to see first-hand the work ethic and dedication of the Aggie coaches and staff. We all feel that by working closely together, the future of Aggie Athletics is enhanced by our advisory role and participation."
--- Jim Laub - President, Cache Valley Electric Company
"The concept of an Advisory Board to serve the Athletics Director and Athletics Department is commendable and long overdue at USU. Scott Barnes and Jim Laub deserve a lot of credit for finally putting it together. Service on the board is a pleasure, an honor and a responsibility. It is also very insightful for the board members, especially so in this age of conference musical chairs. As for the Athletics Director, it provides that person with a sounding board and there is no doubt this is a great benefit and likely provides a level of comfort when difficult decisions need to be made. The make-up of this board is very impressive as there is a significant level of talent and wisdom. I wish there was such a thing as an advisory board competition in college athletics, this Board would be nationally ranked."
--- Steve Mothersell - President, SCM Corporate Group
"The National Advisory Board provides a unique opportunity for me and my colleagues to support the USU Athletics Department in a far more impactful way than simply writing a donation check. Aggie Athletics changed my life as a young student-athlete. Two decades later, I'm able to use the insights I've gained in my career to support a program that gave so much to me. Working on the NABAA with Scott Barnes is an honor. His vision and dedication to providing life-changing experiences for other young Aggies is inspiring.
