LOGAN, Utah -
Jana Doggett has become the newest member of the Utah State athletics department staff and will begin work here Monday, July 10. The former long-time San Diego State University administrator, will serve as the department's associate athletics director of external operations.
Doggett will oversee the department's external operations area, which includes the Big Blue Scholarship Fund, marketing, media relations and the ticket office. She will also oversee several sports.
"We are extremely excited to have Jana join our staff," said USU director of athletics Randy Spetman. "She has a very strong background in athletics and brings with her an energy and enthusiasm to get the job done.
"Jana will hit the ground running and keep the momentum going as we enter our second year in the Western Athletic Conference," Spetman said.
Doggett comes to USU after working at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society San Diego Area Chapter and the City of San Diego in the Corporate Sponsorship and Development Program.
Prior to that, Doggett spent 11 years in the athletics department at San Diego State from 1993-2003, including six years as an associate director of athletics.
In her time at SDSU she supervised all of the athletics department's head coaches as well as the ticket office, marketing and promotions, financial aid, academics, compliance, recruiting, admissions, event management, video production, weight and equipment rooms, sports medicine, and business services.
"I am thrilled to be at Utah State and back in college athletics," Doggett said. "I look forward to working alongside Randy Spetman and helping move the department forward."
Doggett graduated from San Diego State with a degree in speech communication. Doggett was born and raised in Nezperce, Idaho before moving to Visalia, Calif. during her high school years.
