LOGAN, Utah - Natalie Norris, a former Utah State soccer player, has been named the Director of Sports Nutrition within the USU Athletics department.
In her role, Norris will oversee the day-to-day functions of the student-athlete Fueling Station, located on the bottom floor of the ICON Sports Performance Center. The Fueling Station provides snacks for Utah State's student-athletes to supplement their workout routines and boost performance. She will also provide nutrition counseling on both a team and one-on-one basis to Aggie student-athletes.
Additionally, Norris will teach classes within Utah State's Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences department.
"I am really excited to be back in Logan, working with two of the departments that shaped my undergraduate career and me as a person," Norris said. "It will definitely be a new adventure, but I am so grateful for this opportunity to work with both the students and the athletes here at Utah State, and hopefully share my love of sports and nutrition with them."
In her time as a student-athlete at Utah State, Norris was a three-time Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She was an NSCAA all-West Region honoree twice, while earning first-team all-WAC honors three times. Over her four seasons with the Aggies, Norris helped the team to a 47-24-15 record, leading it to two WAC championships and the program's only two appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 2011 and 2012. She currently holds the program record for matches started with 86, starting every match of her career.
In the classroom, Norris was a two-time NSCAA Academic All-American and earned CoSIDA Academic All-American honors as a senior. She graduated from Utah State in 2013 with degrees in nutrition, dietetics and food sciences and exercise science. She then attended the University of Utah, where she recently completed her master's degree in nutrition with an emphasis in sports nutrition.
