Utah State's football team (0-0) will kickoff the 2010 season at No. 7 Oklahoma (0-0) on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. (MT). USU is 0-4 all-time against the Sooners which includes a 54-3 loss in Norman during the 2007 season.
Utah State is picked to finish fourth in the Western Athletic Conference this season after posting a 4-8 record in 2009, including a 3-5 league mark to tie for fifth-place. The Aggies return 20 starters (O-8, D-9, ST-3) and 45 lettermen from last year's team.

Utah State's soccer team (2-0-1) will travel to California for a pair of matches this weekend as it plays at Long Beach State (3-1-0) on Friday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. (MT) and at San Diego State (1-3-0) on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. (MT).

Utah State played just one match last week and finished with a 0-0 tie at Idaho State. USU had four more shots in the match (17-13), while junior goalkeeper Molli Merrill had two saves.

Sat., Sept. 4 --- UTAH STATE OPEN, 9 a.m.
Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams will begin its 2010 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 when it hosts the Utah State Open at 9 a.m., at the American West Heritage Center, which is located south of Logan. The women will run a five-kilometer race during the meet, while the men will run six kilometers. The Utah State men will compete against Weber State, while the Aggie women will run against BYU, Utah and Weber State.
Utah State's men's cross country team has won five-straight WAC Championships (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) and returns 10 seniors to go along with the 2009 WAC Male Athlete of the Year in junior Brian McKenna. Other first-team all-WAC performers returning from a year ago include seniors Nick Bolinder and Steve Strickland, and junior Daniel Howell.
Utah State's women's cross country team finished second at the 2009 WAC Championships and won team titles in 2006 and 2008. USU's women return seven seniors along with junior Jessie Chugg who earned first-team all-WAC honors a year ago.

Utah State's volleyball team (2-0) will play four matches this week including its home opener against Weber State (0-3) on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. USU will then travel to Tempe, Ariz., during the weekend to compete in the Arizona State Sheraton Classic. USU will begin the tournament on Friday, Sept. 3 with matches against San Diego State (3-0) and Seattle (1-2) at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. USU will then conclude the tournament with a match against the host Sun Devils (1-2) on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m.

Utah State went 2-0 last week as it defeated UC Davis (3-0) and Utah (3-1) to win the 2010 Utah Classic. Against UC Davis, junior outside hitter Liz McArthur had 19 kills and hit .500 (19-3-32) in the match, while senior middle blocker Katie Astle had seven kills and three block assists. USU hit .370 in the match and recorded 35 digs, while UCD hit .184 and had 28 digs. Against the Utes, McArthur tied her career-high with 25 kills and added a career-high 15 digs for her first double-double of the season. McArthur ended the match with a .512 (25-3-43) hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter Josselyn White also had a career-high against the Utes as she posted a career-high 13 kills to go along with seven digs and four block assists. USU hit .277 in the match and had 73 digs, while Utah hit .231 and posted 65 digs.
McArthur was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 Utah Classic as she hit an unbelievable .507 (44-6-75) in the tournament and averaged 6.29 kills and 2.57 digs per set. Senior libero Christine Morrill and White were both named to the all-tournament team as Morrill averaged 5.14 digs per set during the tournament, while White hit .233 (20-6-60) during the two matches and averaged 2.86 kills, 1.29 digs and 0.71 blocks per set.
