Sat., Oct. 23 --- HAWAI'I, 3 p.m.
• Utah State's football team (2-4, 0-2) will have a bye week before hosting Hawai'i (4-2, 2-0) for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. (MT), in a game that will be televised live on Altitude Sports (Comcast Ch. 61 in Cache Valley). USU is 5-5 all-time against the Warriors, which includes a 3-1 record at home. USU lost the last meeting between the two teams, 49-36, on Nov. 7, 2009 in Honolulu.

L, 6-24 --- at Louisiana Tech
• Utah State's offense was limited to 195 yards Saturday as the Aggies lost at Louisiana Tech, 24-6. USU's 195 yards of total offense was split with 122 rushing and 73 passing, as senior running back Derrvin Speight had 48 yards. Senior quarterback Diondre Borel totalled 38 yards rushing, while passing for 73 yards on 14-of-23 attempts. Defensively, USU was led by junior linebacker Bobby Wagner's game-high 15 tackles while fellow junior linebacker Kyle Gallagher added 11 stops. Sophomore cornerback Quinton Byrd snared an interception, his team-leading third of the season. LTU had 278 rushing and 149 passing for 427 yards of total offense. After USU took the opening kick and marched down the field, the Aggies' drive stalled and senior placekicker Peter Caldwell's 40-yard field goal was wide left. The Bulldogs drove the field and scoring on an 11-yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 lead and they never looked back. LTU added a 2-yard TD run to take a 14-0 lead before USU got on the board with a 40-yard field goal by Caldwell. The Bulldogs added a 38-yard field goal with 36 seconds left in the half for a 17-3 advantage at intermission. Caldwell split the uprights from 22 yards out for a 17-6 margin with 5:35 left in the third quarter, but LTU added a 10-yard run for the final score with 4:21 to play.

• Utah State's soccer team (7-4-4, 3-0) will continue its homestand this weekend with a pair of WAC matches against Boise State (5-8-1, 2-1) on Friday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m., and Idaho (12-3-0, 3-0-0) on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. (MT).

W, 3-1 --- NEVADA
• Senior forward Lauren Hansen had a historic week as she lead Utah State to a pair of home wins against Nevada (3-1) and Houston Baptist (3-0). Against the Wolf Pack, she scored two goals including the game-winner. Against the Huskies, she scored two more goals and added an assist. During the week, Hansen moved into second-place on USU's all-time goals scored list (34) and moved into a tie for first in career points (77). USU also got a pair of goals from junior forward Shantel Flanary as she had one in each match this weekend.

• Utah State's volleyball team (14-4, 2-3) will have just one match this week as it plays at Nevada (9-9, 3-2) on Friday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. (MT).

Last Week
W, 3-1 --- at Idaho
L, 2-3 --- at Boise State
• Utah State posted a 1-1 road record last week as it defeated Idaho (3-1) and lost to Boise State (3-2). Against the Vandals, junior outside hitter Liz McArthur had 20 kills, nine digs and three service aces, while sophomore opposite side hitter Shay Sorensen added 13 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Josselyn White had 11 kills and senior setter Chelsea Fowles added eight kills and 47 assists to become USU's all-time assists leader. USU hit .347 (60-17-124) in the match and Idaho hit .256 (55-24-121). Against the Broncos, McArthur posted her seventh double-double of the season and the 12th of her career with 20 kills and 11 digs, to go along with four service aces. Sorensen added 13 kills and senior middle blocker Shantell Durrant finished the match with 11 kills and eight block assists. USU hit .161 (54-27-168) overall and Boise State hit .216 (63-27-167).

Sat., Oct. 16 --- at Pre-Nationals, Terre Haute, Ind., 10 a.m.
• Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 when it travels to Terre Haute, Ind., to compete in Pre-Nationals.

Last Week
W - 2/3 --- at Idaho State
• Sophomore Stephanie Burt was the first Aggie runner to cross the finish line at the Idaho State Open Saturday, leading USU to a second-place finish. Host Idaho State finished in first place, while College of Idaho was third. Burt finished the 4K course in 15:59.00 tabbing fourth-place. In addition to Burt, Utah State had three top-10 finishers, including senior Alicia Wilkins who crossed the line at 16:05.00 in seventh-place. Freshman Hannah Williams was ninth (16:18.00) and freshman Ashley Robison finished 10th (16:20.00). Also finishing well for the Aggies was sophomore Marissa Floodman (16:53.00) in 17th place, senior Lexie Meyer (16:55.00) in 19th place and sophomore McKayla Williams (17:07.00) in 23rd place. Rounding out the Aggie finishers were three freshmen, including Cherice Chugg (17:11.00) in 23rd place, Brittany Fisher (17:21.00) in 27th place and Haley Dutson (18:22.00) in 32nd place.

Sat.-Sun., Oct. 16-17 --- at Southern Utah, All Day
• Utah State's golf team will return to action on Monday, Oct. 11 when it competes in the Purple & Red Invitational co-hosted by the University of Utah and Weber State at the Valley View Golf Club in Layton, Utah. USU will also travel to Cedar City this weekend to play Southern Utah in a dual.

T13/15 --- at Nevada Classic
• Senior Benjamin Schilleman carded rounds of 73 and 74 to tie for 28th with a three-over 147 at the weather-shortened Wolf Pack Classic hosted by the University of Nevada. As a team, Utah State tied with Loyola Marymount for 13th-place with a 20-over 596 after rounds of 295 and 301. Senior Tyson McFarland tied for 33rd with a four-over 148 (73-75), while junior Chanse Godderidge tied for 55th with a seven-over 151 (78-73). Junior Austin French tied for 66th with a 10-over 154 (75-79) and freshman Beau Ehlers tied for 76th with a 17-over 161 (74-87).

• Utah State's men's tennis team will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 14 when it travels to Salt Lake City to compete in the Utah Invitational. The tournament will run through Saturday, Oct. 16.

Last Week
NTS --- at Boise State Classic
• Sophomore Sven Poslusny teamed with senior Bryan Marchant to win the Blue Doubles Flight at the Boise State Fall Classic this past weekend. Poslusny and Marchant won all three of its matches in doubles play, including an 8-6 win in the championship match against a team from Air Force. In singles action, senior Jakob Asplund advanced to the semifinals of the Blue Flight Consolation round before losing to Dmytro Mamdeov of Utah, 6-3, 7-6. Other Aggies to compete in the tournament include seniors Nikita Ryashchenko and Alex Thatcher, junior Lenny Whiting and freshman Fredrik Peterson.

Tues.-Sat., Oct. 12-16 --- at ITA Regionals, Las Vegas, All Day
• Utah State's women's tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 12 when it travels to Las Vegas, Nev., to compete in the ITA Regionals. The tournament will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Last Competition
•Senior Hailey Swenson took first place in both the singles and double flights at the Utah State Invitational last weekend. Swenson defeated Weber State's Naseem Eslami, 6-3, 6-2, in the championship match of the singles flight improving her to 9-1 this fall. In doubles action, Swenson paired with sophomore teammate Jaclyn West to take the doubles flight title. Swenson and West defeated Weber State's Annika Karlsen and Kristi Russel, 8-1, in the semifinal round and sophomore teammates Brianna Harris and Kristina Voytsekhovich, 8-4, in the championship match. Swenson and West are a perfect 3-0 in doubles action this fall. Other Aggies to compete in the tournament include senior Taylor Perry, juniors Monica Abella and Julie Tukuafu, sophomores Jenny Phillips, Whitney White and Mersadi Wilkins, and freshman Kimberly Watts.
