Sat., Nov. 2 --- HAWAI'I, 2 p.m. (CBS Sports Network)
• Utah State's football team (4-4, 2-1) will continue its 2013 season next weekend with a Mountain West home game against Hawai'i (0-6, 0-4) on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m., in a contest that will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network (Comcast Ch. 269/753HD, Dish Network Ch. 158, DirecTV Ch. 221). USU is 6-6 all-time against the Rainbow Warriors, including a 3-2 record at home.

• Senior running back Joey DeMartino rushed for a career-high 144 yards and scored four touchdowns, and the Aggie defense held the nation's second-ranked rushing offense to less than half of its season average, in Utah State's 45-10 Mountain West road win at New Mexico Saturday night. Utah State evens its record at 4-4 with the win and improves to 3-1 in MW play, while New Mexico falls to 2-5 on the season and 0-3 in the league with the loss. USU also won its 10th-straight conference game on the road, extending its school record. Utah State finished the game with a season-high 337 rushing yards as part of its 492 yards of total offense as it also passed for 155 yards. Utah State's defense limited New Mexico to just 300 yards of total offense, including a season-low 160 yards on the ground. UNM entered the game ranking second in the nation with an average of 349.3 rushing yards per game. True freshman quarterback Darell Garretson finished the game 15-of-23 passing for 144 yards with one touchdown in his first career start, while DeMartino recorded his third-career 100-yard rushing game as he finished the contest with 144 yards on just 12 carries and tied his career-high with three rushing touchdowns. DeMartino also had a career-high three receptions for a career-best 41 yards, including his first career touchdown reception. Senior wide receiver Travis Reynolds finished with four receptions for 42 yards and extended his streak with at least one reception to 17 straight games. Defensively, senior cornerback Nevin Lawson and senior linebacker Jake Doughty each had six tackles, while senior defensive tackle Connor Williams had a team-high 1.5 sacks as USU notched a season-high six sacks against the Lobos.

• Utah State's soccer team (8-5-2, 4-2-0) continues its 2013 season this week with three Mountain West matches as it hosts Air Force (2-9-2, 1-3-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m., New Mexico (8-8-1, 6-1-0) on Friday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m., and San Diego State (8-6-2, 6-1-0) on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. USU is 2-0-1 all-time against the Falcons, 0-0-0 all-time against the Lobos and 0-0-1 all-time against the Aztecs.

• Utah State posted a 3-0 Mountain West win at Colorado State last week as the Aggies got goals from freshman midfielder/forward Jessica Brooksby, sophomore midfielder/forward Maris Hamblin and freshman midfielder Jayne Robison, while redshirt freshman goalkeeper Natalie Stoven had one save in the match.

• Utah State's volleyball team (12-7, 5-3) will continue its 2013 season with two Mountain West matches this week as it hosts San Diego State (9-9, 4-4) on Thursday, Oct. 24 and UNLV (11-7, 6-2) on Saturday, Oct. 26 with both matches beginning at 7 p.m. USU is 4-6-1 all-time against the Aztecs and 1-2 all-time against the Rebels.

• Utah State posted a 2-0 record last week with a home win against Utah Valley (3-0) and a Mountain West road win at Nevada (3-0). Against the Wolverines, sophomore opposite side hitter Elle Brainard had 12 kills and junior outside hitter Rachel Orr added 10 kills. USU hit .371 (46-10-97) in the match and UVU hit .072 (26-19-97). Against the Wolf Pack, Orr notched her eighth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs, while senior outside hitter Tumua Etimani had eight kills. USU hit .318 (39-11-88) in the match and UN hit .118 (33-22-93).

• Utah State's men's golf team will conclude its 2013 fall season on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21-22 when it competes in the Cal State Northridge hosted Bill Cullum Invitational in Simi Valley, Calif.

• Sophomore Seokwon Jeon shot a 3-under par 68 during his final round and won a two-hole playoff to claim medalist honors at the Utah Invitational. Overall, Jeon finished the tournament with a collegiate-best 7-under 206 (67-71-68). Utah State finished the Utah Invitational tied for second-place out of nine teams with a 21-over 1086 (355-359-372). Jeon, who defeated Boise State's Ty Travis in a two-hole playoff, becomes the second Aggie golfer in as many events to win a tournament as current senior Tanner Higham won the Boise State hosted Dash Thomas Memorial with an 8-under 205 (71-67-67). Jeon began the Utah Invitational by tying his collegiate low round with a 4-under 67 during his first 18 holes, followed by an even-par 71. Jeon then fired a 3-under 68 during his final round to get into the two-hole playoff. Higham finished the Utah Invitational tied for 11th-place with a 2-over 215 (70-72-73), while sophomore Brennan Coburn finished tied for 26th-place with a 6-over 219 (71-70-78), which is also his collegiate-best 54-hole score. During his second round, Coburn carded a 1-under 70 for his best-ever collegiate round. USU junior Grahm Schmaltz finished in 35th-place with an 11-over 224 (70-78-76) as he tied his collegiate-low round of 70 during his first 18 holes. Freshman Braxton Miller tied for 42nd with a 16-over 229 (77-75-77) and fellow freshman Dylan Cramer tied for 52nd-place at 21-over 234 (81-71-82).

• Utah State men's basketball will play its first exhibition game of the 2013-14 season on Friday, Oct. 25 against Central Methodist at 7 p.m.

Preseason Notes
• The 2013-14 USU men's basketball roster consists of 16 players, including eighth returning lettermen, including four returning starters from last season's 21-10 team (11-7 WAC) in senior guard Preston Medlin, senior guard/forward Spencer Butterfield, senior center Jarred Shaw and sophomore guard Marcel Davis. The other returning lettermen include junior forward Danny Berger, junior forward Ben Clifford, senior guard TeNale Roland and junior center Jordan Stone. The roster also includes senior forward Sean Harris, who missed last season with a knee injury. Additions to the squad are seven newcomers in sophomore forward Kyle Davis, along with six freshmen in forwards James Croasdell and Jalen Moore, guards JoJo McGlaston, Viko Noma'aea and Terrell Young, as well as center Carson Shanks.

• Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams will continue its 2013 season on Friday, Nov. 1 when it travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., to compete in the Mountain West Championships at 9 a.m.

M: 33/52; W: 43/49--- at Indiana State Pre-Nationals
• Facing their largest and deepest field this season, Utah State's men and women's cross country teams performed well at the Indiana State-hosted NCAA Pre-National Meet last weekend. Senior Kyle McKenna led the USU men's team with a time of 24:29.83 to finish 84th out of 359 runners in the eight-kilometer Men's Blue Race. Behind McKenna, the Aggie men claimed the 33rd position out of 52 teams. Senior Alex Litzsinger was the top finisher for the women's team, taking home a 122nd-place finish out of 340 runners with a time of 21:38.15 in the six-kilometer Women's Blue Race. Overall, the USU women finished in 43rd-place out of 49 teams. Junior Eric Shellhorn joined McKenna among the top-100 finishers in the Men's Blue Race, garnering the 95th position with a time of 24:32.68. Freshman Colby Wilson (25:04.56) and sophomore Chris Martinez (25:04.69) finished back-to-back in 177th and 178th, respectively, to round out the top-200 for Utah State. They were joined among the top-300 finishers by sophomore Kade Jensen (25:47.87) and junior Jacob Barton (25:51.65), who finished in 289th and 295th, respectively. On the women's side, freshman Tori Parkinson joined Litzsinger in the top-150 with a time of 21:43.47 and a 137th-place finish. Sophomore Jacqueline Winterton (22:13.88), and juniors Ashley Robison (22:19.14) and Brittany Bushman (22:29.46) also performed strongly, placing 230th, 241st and 259th, respectively.

• Utah State men's tennis will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 when it begins its spring season with a dual match at BYU.

NTS --- at ITA Regionals, Las Vegas, Nev.
• Junior Sean Levesque advanced to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships last weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., as he finished the tournament with a 4-2 singles record. Freshman Dennis Baumgartner won his first two singles matches before losing in the round of 32, while junior Matt Sweet posted a 2-2 singles record advancing to the round of 32 as well. Other Aggies who recorded singles win include senior Fredrik Peterson, and freshmen Tomas Cosmai and Dylan Harlow. In doubles play, Baumgartner teamed with freshman Sebastian Schneider and the duo won two matches and advanced to the round of 16 in the main draw before losing. Sweet and senior partner Andrew Whiting also won two doubles matches and advanced to the round of 16 in the main doubles draw before losing as well. Other Aggies to compete in the ITA Regional Championship include senior Matt Thatcher and junior Curran Wearmouth.
