LAST WEEK Oct. 25 - at Pacific*, L 0-4 Oct. 27 - at Cal State Northridge*, W 1-0 THIS WEEK Nov. 3 - at Idaho*, 1 p.m.
** The USU-Idaho (2-12-3, 0-7-1) series stands at 3-1 in USU's favor. The Vandals' first win in the series was last season in Logan, as they defeated the Aggies, 3-2 in double overtime. That game also marked the final match of the season for the Aggies.
** USU is close to setting the record for goals in a season, as the Aggies have 34 entering their match with Idaho. The school-best season goals total was 37, set in 1999.
** Since beginning Big West Conference play on Oct. 4, the Aggies are 1-6-1 (.188), their worst Big West record since 1997. That year, USU picked up its only win in league play in its final match of the season. In contrast to the 4-13 record that season, USU started 2002 with a 6-3-2 (.636) record, the best start to a year since USU began playing soccer in 1996.
** Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Mills currently owns a 1.66 goals against average this season, second among keepers with a minimum of 500 minutes played in a season. She has worked 1575 minutes in the net this year, the most of any goalkeeper in a single season at Utah State.

LAST WEEK Off THIS WEEK Nov. 2 - at Big West Championships, Riverside, Calif.
** USU's cross country teams will compete in the Big West Conference Championships at Riverside, Calif. on Saturday. Earlier this year both USU's men and women each won the UC Riverside Invitational.
** The men are currently ranked seventh in the region and 29th nationally.
** The USU men were second and the women fourth at the league meet last year. USU's men have finished second in six of the last seven years after winning three straight titles from 1992-94. The women won the championship in 1998, but have finished fifth, fourth and fourth in the last three years.
** Mike Nielson should lead the men's team. He has been named the conference cross country athlete of the week twice this year. He has been USU's top finisher in three of USU's four races this season.
** The women have been very balanced this season with Lida Clapier leading USU at two of the four races and Christi Howell and Audrey Golightly also finishing as the best Aggies in the other races.
