LOGAN, Utah - Utah State football player Rob Myers has been named the America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete of the Week, which was voted on by a state media panel, for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 18.

Myers is the second football player to receive USU Athlete of the Week award and the third overall accolade for football, joining senior WR/KR Kevin Robinson's honors on Sept. 24 and Oct. 8.

A 6-4, 240 junior tight end from Houston, Texas (Bellaire HS), Myers had a career-high 117 yards on four catches (a whopping 29.25 ypc), two of them for a career-high two TD's as Utah State snapped a 16-game losing streak with a 35-17 win at New Mexico State Saturday. USU also stopped its 12-game road losing skein, last winning in the 2005 season finale also at New Mexico State.

With 117 receiving yards, Myers became USU's first receiver with 100-yards in a game this season and the first since Kevin Robinson's 101 yards versus New Mexico State last season. Myers also becomes the first USU receiver with two TD's in a game since Robinson had two at Louisiana Tech last year.

After no TD's in his first two seasons as an Aggie, Myers had his first career TD at Fresno State on Nov. 3 and now has three TD's in the last three games.

For the season, Myers has 21 catches for 320 yards, a 15.2 yards per catch average, which is among the NCAA's best for tight ends.

Myers and the Aggies travel to Moscow, Idaho to take on Idaho on Saturday, Nov. 24 in USU's season finale. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. (MT).

Fans can follow the action on the radio on KVNU (610 AM) in Logan, 1320 AM in Salt Lake City and 105.3 FM in Montpelier, Idaho, as well as streamed on the Internet through Yahoo! Sports on www.UtahStateAggies.com.

Saturday's game will also be televised regionally on Altitude (Comcast Ch. 61 in Cache Valley).
