• Utah State football (9-4, 6-2 MW) will conclude its 2014 season with its fourth-straight bowl game appearance, which is a first in school history. USU's bowl destination and opponent will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Last Week
L, 19-50 --- at #25 Boise State
• Jay Ajayi rushed for a career-high 229 yards and scored five touchdowns in leading 25th-ranked Boise State (10-2, 7-1 MW) to a 50-19 home win against Utah State (9-4, 6-2 MW) last weekend to claim the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference. Utah State, who had its five-game winning streak snapped, is now 4-52 all-time against Associated Press ranked teams, including a 2-2 record under current head coach Matt Wells. USU also lost its 12th-straight game to Boise State, including its seventh-straight in Boise. Boise State finished the game with 498 yards of total offense, including 283 on the ground, both of which are season-highs for a Utah State opponent. USU had just 268 yards of total offense, with 159 yards passing and 109 yards rushing. Ajayi rushed 27 times for his 229 yards and is the first back to rush for 200 yards against Utah State since Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray in 2010. In all, the 283 rushing yards allowed by the Aggies are its most since Nevada rushed for 394 yards in 2010. Freshman QB Kent Myers led Utah State as he was 16-of-28 passing for 159 yards with one interception as he recorded season-highs in both pass attempts and completions. Myers also rushed a season-high 11 times for 43 yards and scored USU's only offensive touchdown of the game on a 9-yard run in the first quarter. Senior SS Frankie Sutera led Utah State's defense with a career-high 15 tackles, including 1.0 sack, while sophomore LB Nick Vigil had 13 tackles, which included 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack, to go along with a forced fumble. Senior LB Zach Vigil added 12 stops and 1.0 sack, while senior DE B.J. Larsen and junior NG Travis Seefeldt also registered sacks in the game.

• Utah State's volleyball team (13-16, 9-9 MW) concluded its 2014 season with a 3-2 home win against Boise State. Against the Broncos, senior MB Kaitlyn VanHoff had 14 kills and nine blocks, while sophomore OH Kaylie Kamalu also had 14 kills. Senior OH Rachel Orr added 13 kills, while senior LIB Ashlan Rogers-Court had 14 digs and sophomore LIB Hannah Gleason added 13 digs. USU finished the match hitting .201 (55-23-159) and BSU hit .231 (74-34-173).

• Utah State men's basketball (3-2) will continue its 2014-15 season with two games this week as it hosts BYU (5-2) on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network (Comcast Ch. 269/753HD, Dish Network Ch. 158, DirecTV Ch. 221), and plays at USC (4-3) on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. (MT). USU is 92-138 all-time against the Cougars including a 60-51 home record, and 6-8 all-time against the Trojans including a 1-1 record in known road games.

• Utah State lost its only game of the week at UC Davis, 77-70, in overtime. Sophomore wing Jalen Moore had 17 points, junior guards Darius Perkins and Chris Smith each scored 13 points, and sophomore guard JoJo McGlaston scored a career-high 11 points, while freshman center Elston Jones had a season-best nine rebounds. USU finished the game shooting 41.5 percent from the field (27-65), including 39.1 percent from three-point range (9-23), and 70.0 percent at the free throw line (7-10). UCD shot 44.4 percent (28-63), 29.2 percent from behind the arc (7-24), and 87.5 percent at the charity stripe (14-16).

• Utah State women's basketball (1-5) continues its 2014-15 season this week with two games as it plays at Utah (1-4) on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m., and hosts Westminster (8-0) on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m., in what will be an exhibition game for the Griffins. USU is 3-31all-time against the Utes and 0-0 all-time against the Griffins.

• Utah State went 0-3 at the Basketball Travelers, Inc. Classic, hosted by Baylor last weekend as the Aggies fell 99-43 to the 13th-ranked Lady Bears, 68-65 to Marist and 84-64 to Stetson. Against the Lady Bears, freshman guard Tilar Clark had a team-high eight points as USU shot 24.3 percent (17-70), including 14.3 percent from three-point range (3-21) and 60.0 percent at the free throw line (6-10). BU shot 47.7 percent (31-65), including 25.0 percent from behind the arc (2-8) and 79.5 percent at the charity stripe (35-44). Against the Red Foxes, junior guard Makenlee Williams had 18 points, freshman center Hannah Hutchins scored 16 points, and freshman guard Funda Nakkasoglu had 15 points. USU shot 39.0 percent (23-59), including 36.4 percent from three-point range (8-22) and 73.3 percent at the free throw line (11-15). Marist shot 30.0 percent (18-60), including 24.0 percent from behind the arc (6-25) and 81.3 percent at the charity stripe (26-32). Against the Hatters, Nakkasoglu scored 13 points, while Williams and senior guard Elise Nelson both scored 10 points. USU shot 33.9 percent (21-62), including 27.3 percent from behind the arc (6-22) and 72.7 percent at the free throw line (16-22). SU shot 47.5 percent (28-59), including 25.9 percent from three-point range (7-27) and 75.0 percent at the free throw line (21-28).
