• Utah State men’s basketball (5-4) continues its 2016-17 season with two home games this week as it hosts New Orleans (4-5) on Monday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., and then hosts Weber State (4-6) on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. Live streaming of both home games is available at www.UtahStateAggies.com/videos. USU is 1-1 all-time against the Privateers, including a 0-1 home record, and 42-26 all-time against the Wildcats, including a 25-8 home record.

W, 80-79 (OT) --- at Utah Valley
• Utah State won both of its games last week with an 84-51 victory at home over Great Falls, followed by an 80-79 overtime victory at Utah Valley. Against the Argos, senior guard Shane Rector led the Aggies with 16 points and added three rebounds, two assists and two steals as USU shot a season-high 60.8 percent (31-of-51), including 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from behind the arc and 64.0 percent (16-of-25) at the free throw line. Great Falls shot 31.1 percent (19-of-61), including 11.1 percent (3-of-27) from three and 62.5 percent (10-of-16) at the charity stripe. Against the Wolverines, Rector hit a pair of free throws with 1.6 seconds in overtime as part of a season-high 18 points, while adding a career-high tying five rebounds along with two assists and two steals. USU shot 40.8 percent (29-of-71) from the floor, 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from three and 66.7 percent (16-of-24) at the free throw line. Utah Valley shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63), including 20.0 percent (4-of-20) from behind the arc and 76.0 percent (19-of-25) at the free throw line.

• Utah State women’s basketball (7-3) concludes the non-conference portion of its 2016-17 season in a road game at Arizona (7-2) on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m. Live streaming is available at http://pac-12.com/live/university-arizona. USU is 6-4 all-time against the Wildcats.

• Utah State posted a 1-1 record last week with a 56-45 home win against Utah Valley and a 60-40 home loss to BYU. Against the Wolverines, sophomore guard Rachel Brewster led the Aggies with 19 points, while freshman forward Shannon Dufficy matched her career-high with 14 rebounds for the third time this season. She is the first USU player to record 14 or more rebounds in multiple games since the reinstatement of the Utah State program in 2003. On the defensive side, freshman guard Eliza West added a career-best five steals, while sophomore center Deja Mason had a season-high five blocks. In all, the Aggies out-rebounded the Wolverines, 41-31. Overall, USU shot 37.9 percent (22-of-58) from the field, including 25.0 percent (4-of-16) from the 3-point line, and was 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the free throw line. UVU shot 34.0 percent (16-of-47) from the field, 25.0 percent (5-of-20) from behind the arc and 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the free throw line. Against the Cougars, freshman guard/forward Hailey Bassett scored a career-best 16 points, while Mason recorded her second-ever double-double with a career-high 11 rebounds to go along with a career-best 11 points. Additionally, she tied her season-high with five blocks to hel p USU tie the single-game block record with 14. Senior forward Antoina Robinson tied her career-high, contributing four blocks to the team total.
