Wed., Dec. 23 --- WEBER STATE, 8 p.m.
• Utah State (6-4) will host Cal State Fullerton (4-3), Morehead State (4-4) and Weber State (5-5) in the Basketball Travelers Invitational, sponsored by Gossner Foods, on Monday, Dec. 21 through Wednesday, Dec. 23. On Monday, Weber State will play Cal State Fullerton at 5:30 p.m., followed by Utah State versus Morehead State at 8 p.m. On Tuesday, Weber State will face Morehead State at 5:30 p.m., and USU will play Cal State Fullerton at 8 p.m. And on Wednesday, Cal State Fullerton and Morehead State will play at 5:30 p.m., followed by Utah State versus Weber State at 8 p.m. USU is 1-0 all-time against Morehead State, 39-17 all-time against Cal State Fullerton and 36-25 all-time against Weber State.

• Utah State went 1-1 on the road last week as it defeated Cal State Bakersfield, 68-51, and lost to Long Beach State, 75-62. Against the Roadrunners, junior forward Tai Wesley recorded his first double-double of the season as he had 15 points to go along with a season-high 10 rebounds, while junior guard Tyler Newbold added 13 points and a season-high five rebounds. Utah State finished the game by shooting 42.2 percent from the field (27-64), 35.3 percent from three-point range (6-17) and 72.7 percent from the free throw line (8-11). Cal State Bakersfield was 17-of-39 from the field (.436), 4-of-10 from behind the arc (.400) and 13-of-21 at the charity stripe (.619). USU also had a 34-29 advantage on the boards and committed a season-low five turnovers. Against the 49ers, Wesley was the only Aggie to score in double-figures as he scored a season-high 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting to go along with seven rebounds. Utah State finished the game by shooting a season-low 38.2 percent from the field (21-55), a season-low 20.0 percent from three-point range (4-20) and 72.7 percent from the free throw line (16-22). Long Beach State shot 51.0 percent overall (25-49) including 61.9 percent in the second-half. The 49ers were also 8-of-19 (.421) from behind the arc for the game and 17-of-22 at the charity stripe (.773). The 51.0 percent shooting by LBSU is a season-high for a USU opponent. Utah State did out-rebound Long Beach State, 33-30, while the 49ers committed 13 turnovers as compared to 11 for the visitors.

• Utah State (4-5) will play a pair of in-state games this week as it hosts Weber State (6-6) on Monday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m., and plays at Southern Utah (3-8) on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 12 p.m. USU is 13-22 all-time against the Wildcats and 3-2 all-time against the Thunderbirds.

• Utah State went 1-1 at home last week as it defeated North Dakota State, 58-46, and lost to Brigham Young, 61-48. Against the Bison, junior guard Amber White scored a team-high 13 points to go along with seven rebounds, while freshman guard Trisha Jo Goddard added 10 points and four assists. Redshirt freshman center Banna Diop scored seven points to go along with eight rebounds and a career-high five blocks, and senior guard Tahara Williams finished the game with nine points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Utah State shot 45.8 percent overall (22-48), including 55.6 percent from three-point range (5-9) and 69.2 percent at the free throw line (9-13). NDSU made just 18-of-58 field goals (.310), including 5-of-18 from behind the arc (.278). The Bison did make all five of their free throws. Against the Cougars, White was the only Aggie to score in double-figures as she had 12 points, while senior center Lydia Whitehead had 10 rebounds. USU shot 37.0 percent from the field for the game (17-46), including just 11.1 percent from three-point range (1-9) and 59.1 percent at the free throw line (13-22). BYU made 40.4 percent of its field goals (23-57), was 5-of-18 from behind the arc (.278) and 10-of-17 at the charity stripe (.588).
