• Utah State men’s basketball (6-5, 0-0) continues its 2016-17 season this week as it begins Mountain West play by hosting Boise State (7-4, 0-0) on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m., and playing at Air Force (6-6, 0-0) on Saturday, Dec. 31 at Noon. Both games will be televised live on ROOT Sports (Comcast Ch. 52/693HD, Dish Network Ch. 414, DirecTV Ch. 683). USU is 30-12 all-time against the Broncos, including an 18-2 home record, and 14-3 all-time against the Falcons, including a 6-3 road record.

• Utah State posted a 1-1 home record last week with a 76-66 victory against New Orleans, followed by a 77-71 loss to Weber State. Against the Privateers, freshman guard Koby McEwen scored a team-high 19 points and pulled down a team-best seven rebounds as USU shot 50.0 percent (24-of-48) from the floor, 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from behind the 3-point line and 75.9 percent (22-of-29) from the free throw line. New Orleans shot 40.7 percent (24-of-59) from the floor, 16.7 percent (2-of-12) from behind the arc and 66.7 percent (16-of-24) at the free throw line. Against the Wildcats, senior wing Jalen Moore scored a team-high 18 points and logged a team-best five rebounds as USU shot 48.0 percent (24-of-50) from the floor, 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from behind the 3-point line and 77.3 percent (17-of-22) from the free throw line. Weber State shot 52.0 percent (26-of-50) from the floor, 39.1 percent (9-of-23) from behind the 3-point line and 76.2 percent (16-of-21) at the free throw line.

• Utah State women’s basketball (7-4, 0-0) continues its 2016-17 season this week as it begins Mountain West play with a road game at Boise State (10-1, 0-0) on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m., and then hosts Air Force (2-8, 0-0) on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. Both games will be steamed live on the Mountain West Network, while all USU home games are available at www.UtahStateAggies.com/videos. USU is 8-22 all-time against the Broncos and 6-1 all-time against the Falcons.

• Utah State posted an 0-1 record last week as it fell to Arizona on the road, 61-57. The Aggies had several strong performances against the Wildcats, led by a double-double from Shannon Dufficy. The freshman forward scored a career-high 21 points, while adding 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Rachel Brewster joined her in double-figures with 15 points and a career-high six steals. Overall, Utah State shot 39.6 percent (21-of-53) from the field, including 9.1 percent (1-of-11) from the 3-point line, and was 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the free throw line. Arizona shot 40.7 percent (22-of-54) from the field, 27.3 percent (3-of-11) from behind the arc and 66.7 percent (14-of-21) from the free throw line.
