Wed., Dec. 31 --- SAN JOSÉ STATE, 7 p.m. (KMYU TV)
Sat., Jan. 3 --- at Boise State, 12 p.m. (ROOT)
• Utah State men's basketball (7-5, 0-0) will continue its 2014-15 season this week as it begins Mountain West play with a home game against San José State (2-10, 0-0) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. and a road game at Boise State (10-3, 0-0) on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 12 p.m. USU's game against SJSU will be televised regionally on KMYU TV (Comcast Ch. 22, DirecTV Ch. 12, DISH Network Ch. 12) and its game at BSU will be televised regionally on ROOT Sports (Comcast Ch. 52/693HD, Dish Network Ch. 414, DirecTV Ch. 683). Live streaming for both games is also available at utahstateaggies.tv. USU is 53-21 all-time against the Spartans, including a 31-4 home record, and 29-9 all-time against the Broncos, including an 8-8 road record.

W, 75-63 --- WAYLAND BAPTIST
• Utah State posted a 75-63 home win against Wayland Baptist in its only game last week as sophomore forward Jalen Moore led the Aggies with 17 points and nine rebounds. Redshirt freshman forward David Collette added 14 points and six rebounds, while sophomore guard JoJo McGlaston had 12 points and senior forward Sean Harris scored a career-high 10 points to go along with a career-best eight rebounds. USU finished the game shooting 47.3 percent (26-55), including 38.9 percent from three-point range (7-18) and a season-best 88.9 percent at the free throw line (16-18). Wayland Baptist shot 37.3 percent (22-59), including 21.1 percent from behind the arc (4-19) and 71.4 percent at the charity stripe (15-21).

• Utah State women's basketball (3-9, 0-0) continues its 2014-15 season this week as it begins Mountain West play with a road game at San José State (6-5, 0-0) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. (MT) and a home game against Boise State (8-3, 0-0) on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. USU is 14-5 all-time against the Spartans and 8-18 all-time against the Broncos. L, 58-62 (2OT) --- BYU
• Utah State lost to BYU, 62-58, in double overtime in its only game last week. Against the Cougars, freshman guard Funda Nakkasoglu had 19 points, while senior forward Franny Vaaulu recorded her second double-double of the season and the fourth of her career as she had a season-high 15 points and a season-best four blocked shots to go along with 10 rebounds and two assists in a season-best 39 minutes. USU finished the game shooting 30.6 percent (22-72), including 23.5 percent from three-point range (4-17) and 55.6 percent at the free throw line (10-18). BYU shot 30.9 percent (21-68), including 17.6 percent from behind the arc (3-17) and 65.4 percent at the charity stripe (17-26).
