Beginning his first year as the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions at Utah State University is Derick Stoulil, who joined in the department in August, 2013.
In his role, Stoulil is responsible for all marketing campaigns and promotions of USU's 16 intercollegiate sports, along with maintaining the department's website.
Previously, Stoulil spent three years at Purdue University as Director of Fan Experience and Assistant Director of Promotions and Advertising. While at Purdue, he was responsible for marketing and promoting the 18 intercollegiate sports. He set numerous ticket sales, attendance and revenue records for the volleyball program as well as oversaw the marketing and promotions plan for the new baseball stadium, resulting in record season ticket, attendance and revenue numbers during the 2013 season.
Stoulil came to Purdue after spending two years in the athletics department at Fresno State, where he worked with the baseball, volleyball and women's basketball programs.
He spent two years as a marketing and promotions graduate assistant at Western Illinois. Prior to that, he worked two years for the Clinton LumberKings minor league baseball team
A native of Pocahontas, Iowa, Stoulil earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and marketing: sales and advertising emphasis from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 and a master's degree in sport management from Western Illinois University in 2008.
