Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services
Beginning his 18th year in charge of Utah State's Student-Athlete Academic Services is Dr. Brian Evans, who was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director in 2013. Evans joined the USU staff in July, 2000 after spending three years as Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Services at Texas Tech from 1997-2000. Previously, he was the Academic Coordinator at Montana State from 1995-97.
Evans oversees the student-athlete academic services unit, directing academics and certification of initial and continuing eligibility of Utah State student-athletes. He directs a staff of five full-time assistants and has administrative oversight of the gymnastics and women's soccer programs. Following the 2014 and 2015 gymnastics season, Evans was named the North Central Region Administrator of the Year as voted on by coaches in the region.
Under Evans' guidance, Utah State University has been in the top two each year in the affiliated conference for number of academic all-league honorees. In 2016-17 Utah State moved into the first spot of Mountain West Conference Graduation Rates rankings, with 89%. This rate also leads among all 4-year Utah institutions.
A native of Nebraska, the 1987 Colorado journalism graduate earned a master's degree in athletic administration from Idaho State in 1988 and a doctorate of higher education administration from Montana State in 2000.
|Amber Rae Childers
Assistant AD - Student-Athlete Academic Services
Amber Rae Childers is an Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services. She is the academic coordinator for football and women's volleyball. In addition to her responsibilities as an academic coordinator, she coordinates the Life Skills program for student-athletes.
Childers joined the SAAS staff in August 2010. Prior to coming to Utah State University, she served one year as an Assistant Academic Coordinator within the Academic Support Program for Student Athletes at North Carolina State University. Childers also gained experience in athletics through internships at Carroll College and Auburn University at Montgomery.
Childers is a native of Prosser, Washington. She completed her bachelor's in Business Administration and Health & Physical Education from Carroll College, and her master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from University of Washington.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time outdoors.
Steph Ingalls began working at Utah State in Summer, 2014. She is the Academic Coordinator for men’s basketball, gymnastics, softball, and men’s & women’s tennis.
Steph came to Utah State from the University of Wyoming, where she worked in athletics as a learning specialist and academic coordinator. A native of Wyoming, Ingalls received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology and a master’s in Adult and Postsecondary Education, both from the University of Wyoming. In her spare time Steph enjoys sports, spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, reading, and learning.
Andrea Patton came to Utah State in Summer, 2014 as the Athletics Learning Specialist in Student-Athlete Academic Services. She comes to Utah State from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, where she served as the Tutor Coordinator. She oversaw all aspects of the Athletic Department's Tutoring Program, from recruiting, training, developing and evaluating all tutors and academic coaches. She also completed a full internship as an Academic Mentor/ Tutor Coordinator Intern at Florida Atlantic University, where she mentored at-risk student-athletes from all sports and aided in the oversight of their tutoring program.
A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, Andrea completed her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education: English Literature and her Pennsylvania Teaching Certification at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. She was a four-year letterman for the Women's Basketball team from 2007-2011. As a senior, she garnered Daktronics 1st Team All-Region, WVIAC 1st Team All-Conference and Capital One Second Team Academic All-District honors. She served one year as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at her alma mater before completing her Master's Degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington in 2013.
When not educating her student-athletes, Andrea enjoys her time teaching and training Myra and Daisy.
Academic Coordinator for Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country
Andi Dolinsky-Webb is in her first year working with Student-Athlete Academic Services. She is the academic coordinator for Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field.
Before joining SAAS, Andi was an assistant coach with the Utah State Gymnastics team from 2013-2017. She also served as a graduate assistant coach for the Ball State Gymnastics team from 2010-2012.
A native of Loma Linda, CA, Andi graduated from UC Davis in 2009 with a BA in English and was a member of the UC Davis Gymnastics team, serving as captain in her final season. She received a Master’s Degree in English Literature during her time at Ball State in Muncie, IN, and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Medieval Literature and Culture from University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland in 2013.
Andi is married to Kevin Webb and the couple resides in North Logan.
Academic Coordinator for Women's Soccer/Secondary Counselor for Football
Sarah Moore joined Student-Athlete Academic Services as an Academic Coordinator in Summer, 2017. She serves as the lead advisor for the women's soccer team and the secondary advisor for the football team. In addition, she assists with Life Skills programming. Sarah came to Utah State after spending two years at the University of Missouri working as a graduate assistant with numerous teams and the tutoring program.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Sarah graduated from the University at Buffalo with a dual degree in Sociology and Legal Studies. During her time at the University at Buffalo, she was also a member of the Women's Soccer team which captured the Mid-American Conference Championship in 2014. During her time at the University of Missouri she completed a Master's of Education in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching. Sarah is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) as well as the LGBTQA+ Committee within N4A.
