Student-Athlete Academic Services

Aggie Academics
Welcome to Utah State University and Aggie Academics, where we're proud of our strong tradition of academic excellence. This tradition includes leading the conference in total number of Academic-All Conference selections every year of Western Athletics Conference (WAC) membership (2005-2013); and the second most Academic All-Mountain West Conference selections among the twelve member institutions from 2013-2017. Utah State Student-Athletes also led the WAC in Graduation Success Rates since the inception of that graduation metric by the NCAA, and currently boasts an 89% rate which leads the Mountain West Conference. Utah State student-athletes compete well and WIN in the classroom.

Jim and Carol Laub Athletics Academics Complex
The Student-Athlete Service's Academic Center is located on the third floor of the Laub Complex, offering a large Study Center and Computer Center for the use of student-athletes. The Computer Center houses 21 Dell PCs and 3 Macintosh computers in a relaxed computing environment. The computer desks make the Center distinctive, as they were formerly housed in the State Legislature. The spacious Study Center overlooks the football field and campus to the south. There is ample room for student-athletes to spread out their study materials and boot up laptops in the completely wireless Study Center; or they can plug in to any one of several data jacks located throughout the Study Center's floor plan. Three classrooms and five smaller tutor rooms are available for individual or group session tutoring and instruction as well.

Philosophy & Mission
Our philosophy is that the educational pursuit of the student-athlete needs to be owned by that student-athlete. Ultimately, they are responsible for the classes they take and the degree they earn. However, as a Division I intercollegiate student-athlete, there are many inherent time demands and constraints. Student-Athlete Academic Services therefore provides the tools and resources necessary to help the student-athlete navigate the college environment to optimize success, all the while developing as a student and person. Some of these resources include priority registration, tutoring, mentoring, and course selection advising.

Did you know?
62% of Utah State student-athletes have a 3.00 cumulative GPA after the Spring 2017 semester.
