Of its 45 academic all-WAC selections, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from women's indoor track honored and 15 from men's indoor track, along with five from both gymnastics and women's basketball, and two from men's basketball.
2013 (Jr.): Finished 19th in the long jump at the WAC Indoor Championships. 2012 (So.): Recorded an indoor season-best long jump of 5.38m (17-07.75) to take third-place at the Idaho State Snake River Open (Jan. 14)... Competed in the outdoor 100m, high jump and long jump. 2011 (Fr.): Finished in 10th-place in the long jump and 12th-place in the triple jump at the WAC Indoor Championships as well as finishing 15th in the triple jump at the WAC Outdoor Championships. High School: Earned one letter in track & field... Awarded all-region and set region records in long jump and triple jump. Personal: Full name is Daphne Louise Jones... Born November 24, 1992... Only daughter, along with one brother, of Paul and Sylvia Jones... Major is psychology... Brother, Isaiah, played for the Utah State football team from 2009-12... Father, Paul, played for the Aggie football team from 1980-82 as well as the USU track & field team as he stills sits in the top 10 in four events including the indoor triple jump (sixth), indoor long jump (second), outdoor triple jump (second) and outdoor long jump (tied for first).
