LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's Nick Karren has been named the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 14-20.

Karren, a junior from Duchesne, Utah (Duchesne HS), came away with two victories last weekend. On Friday at the Utah State Wilson Motor Invitational, Karren won the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.11. Karren also captured the 60-meter hurdles title with a personal best time of 8.23 on Saturday at the Idaho State Snake River Open in Pocatello, Idaho. His 60-meter hurdles mark is the sixth-fastest time in Utah State history.

This is Karren's first career WAC Indoor Athlete of the Week honor.

Utah State's men's and women's teams return to action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, at Pullman, Wash., for the Washington State Invitational.
