Jan. 23, 2013
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men and women's track and field teams will travel to Nampa, Idaho to compete at Boise State's Jacksons/New Balance Invitational at the Jacksons Indoor Track Facility on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26.
This is the first of three trips to the Jacksons Indoor Track Facility for the Aggies this season, as they will also return for the Bronco Classic on Feb. 2 and again for the Boise State Team Challenge on Feb. 8-9.
Action will begin in Nampa on Friday with the multi-events at 10:30 a.m. (MT) and is set to conclude with the men's 5,000m at 8:35 p.m. Saturday's action will kick off at 9 a.m. with the final three heptathlon events. The meet is set to end at the 3:45 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay. All times are subject to change.
"The thing about going into the Mountain West Conference next year is the two venues we run in mostly for indoors are going to be conference championship sites, in Boise State and New Mexico," veteran Aggie head coach Gregg Gensel said. "It will be great for us to be able to continue to do that and our athletes will continue to get experience at those tracks. Albuquerque is where the conference championships are going to be this year and that is why we are going there the times we are; Boise is a great facility and close, so it's a no-brainer."
Live results for the Jacksons/New Balance Invitational will be available for fans to view by clicking on the 'Live Results' link on the Track & Field page at www.UtahStateAggies.com. For more information about the Jacksons/New Balance Invitational fans can visit here.
After competing in New Mexico's Cherry & Silver Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M on Jan. 18-19, senior Alex Litzsinger and redshirt-freshman Briton Page were named the Western Athletic Conference Women's and Men's Indoor Track Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Jan. 14-20.
