Colorado State enters the meet as the reigning champion on the men's side, while the Colorado State women seek to capture three-straight MW titles for the first time in program history. A total of 17 teams (six men, 11 women) will compete in the meet.

Utah State's men have two individuals and a relay team look to defend their titles. Senior Clay Lambourne battles for a four-peat in the 800m, while junior Leaugen Fray, who leads the MW in the long jump this season, will look for his second-consecutive long jump title. Along with Lambourne, the men's 4x400-meter relay team will also look to four-peat.

Utah State has also captured the last four men's 400m titles, with senior Brady Martin winning the event in 2016. Martin's personal-best time of 46.26 is a MW Championship record, and the second-best time in MW history.

Senior Dillon Maggard owns the MW's best 5,000m time this season with a school-record mark of 13:40.59 and is coming of an All-American cross country campaign.

On the women's side, junior Brenn Flint is the shot put leader in the conference with a school-record mark of 16.53m (54-2.75). Junior Alyssa Hirschi will compete in the pentathlon and owns the seventh-best score in school history (3,539 points).
