Mountain West Announces 2017 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Teams
LOGAN, Utah -- Twelve Utah State track & field athletes earned all-conference accolades a total of 19 times as the Mountain West announced its 2017 men's and women's Indoor Track & Field honors on Monday.

LOGAN, Utah – Twelve Utah State track & field athletes earned all-conference accolades a total of 19 times as the Mountain West announced its 2017 men’s and women’s Indoor Track & Field honors on Monday.

All-conference selections were awarded to the top-three finishers in each event of the 2017 MW Indoor Championships, which were held Feb. 23-25 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Among Utah State’s men, senior AJ Boully and freshman Michael Bluth, earned the most all-conference honors with three apiece.

Boully captured victories in the 400m (46.48), 4x400-meter relay (3:09.21) and a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (7.85), while Bluth competed alongside Boully in the 4x400-meter relay, finished second in the 4,000m distance medley relay (9:49.24) and placed third in the 400m (47.18).  

Also receiving all-conference honors in the 400m was Brady Martin as the junior placed second (46.94). Martin snagged more honors by running a leg in the men’s 4x400-meter relay, along with junior Joshua Gordon.

Junior Dillon Maggard continued to shine, placing second in both the mile (4:07.78) and the distance medley relay (9:49.24). Maggard's converted mile time of 3:58.23 ranks 13th in the nation. 

Junior Clay Lambourne cruised to a victory in the 800m and earned all-conference honors for his meet-record time of 1:49.20.

On the women’s side, sophomore Brenn Flint captured second place and all-conference recognition with her personal-best toss of 15.40m (50-6.25).

Also, sophomore Cierra Simmons earned all-conference status and placed third in the mile with a time of 4:52.88.

Other Aggies to earn MW all-conference accolades included juniors David Hirschmann (shot put), Jordan Beutler (4,000m DMR), as well as sophomore Leaugen Fray-Benoit (long jump, high jump) and freshman Brody Smith (4,000m DMR).

The Aggie men finished third with 110.5 points, while the women ended in ninth with 42 points.  

The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in College Station, Texas, on March 10-11.
