Utah State To Open Outdoor Season At Sacramento State

LOGAN, UTAH - Utah State men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Sacramento State to open their 2005 outdoor season this Saturday. The men's and women's distance runners will begin their season at the Stanford Invitational on Friday.

Utah State is coming of an exciting indoor season, which was capped with the school's first appearance at the WAC Track and Field championships. The men's team finished in second place lead by Mike Nielson, who finished first with a time of 8:25.54 in the 3000 meters, and Zach Lloyd who captured first place in the shot put with a throw of 59-11.75. The women's team finished in seventh place and was lead by Lida Riplinger who finished fourth in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:59.86.
