LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's track & field middle distance runner Briton Page was named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March. 31, in an award voted on by a state-wide media panel.
This is the first career USU Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Page, while also being the second time an Aggie track & field athlete has won the award this year as sophomore Nic Bowens garnered the honor on Feb. 25.
Page, a freshman from Centerville, Utah, ran the fourth-fastest time in school history in the men's 800m (1:49.64) as he placed third at the Stanford Invitational this past weekend. The time is also the fastest for the event in the Western Athletic Conference this season.
Furthermore, Page ranks eighth in the nation for the men's 800m, along with ranking fifth on the West qualifying list for the season.
Action continues for Utah State track & field as they travel to Boise, Idaho for the All-Idaho Cup on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6. USU will also host the annual Mark Faldmo Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20. Information for the Aggies lone home meet of the year can be found online at www.UtahStateAggies.com.
