Utah State Track Headed To UCLA Friday And Saturday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's track teams travel to UCLA on Friday, Apr. 7, and Saturday, Apr. 8 for the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational.

At last year's Invitational senior Tiffany Strickland set a new school record in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:43.94. Following close behind was Staci Lifferth coming in second with a time of 10:45.85, which was a good enough time for third place in the USU record books.

Clark Bryner finished fourth in the 5,000 meters at the Invitational with a time of 14:37.53. Senior Justin Wickard finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.05.

Utah State posted four first place finishes in its meet against BYU Friday. Junior Amber Judd took first place in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.25) and finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (14:32) with teammate Lacey Hulbert taking second place with a time of 14.42.

Senior DJ Smith captured first place in the 100-meters with a time of 10.57 and junior Scott Bell took first place in the 400-meters with a time of 52.57.

Utah State heads to BYU again on Friday, Apr. 14, and Saturday Apr. 15.
