Utah State Track & Field Preparing for Stanford Invitational

Utah State's men and women's track & field teams will travel to the Golden State for the first time this season. For the third consecutive year the Aggies will compete in the Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field in Stanford, Calif. on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 5-6.
Field events in Stanford will commence on Friday at 10:00 a.m. (MT) with the men's javelin and will finish with the men's discus at 7:15 p.m. Track events will begin with the women's 5,000m at 11:22 a.m. and will wrap up at 11:38 p.m. with the men's 10,000m.
On Saturday, action in the field will start with the women's hammer throw at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude with the women's discus at 6:00 p.m. Track events will begin on Saturday with the women's 4x100m at 2:02 p.m., with the meet finishing up with the men's 4x400m at 6:15 p.m.
"We're excited for the opportunity to have some warmer weather to compete and get better. As the season goes on we want to keep progressing and this meet affords us that opportunity," said Aggie veteran head coach Gregg Gensel.
The Aggies are coming off a weekend that saw them win seven event titles at the Utah Valley Collegiate Invitational in Orem, Utah. In addition to the action in Orem, some of USU's top sprinters competed in the University of Texas hosted 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
