USU Track & Field Heads To Boise For All-Idaho Cup This Weekend

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men and women's track & field teams will continue the 2013 outdoor season at the Boise State hosted All-Idaho Cup on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6 at the Dona Larsen Park in Boise, Idaho.
Action kicks off Friday with the women's discus throw at 11 a.m. (MT) and is set to conclude with the men's 200m dash at 7:05 p.m. Saturday's portion of the meet will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's pole vault and will end with the men's 4x400m relay at 4:10 p.m.
"Going to Boise is like going to all the meets, we want to improve and get better," veteran USU head coach Gregg Gensel said. "It is a place where we are familiar with, because we come to Boise a lot. We are looking to have improvement across the board."
After placing third in the men's 800m with the fourth-fastest time in school history, freshman Briton Page was named both the USU Student-Athlete of the Week and the Western Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week. With his time of 1:49.64, Page ranks first in the WAC this season, fifth in the West qualifying and eighth overall in the nation.
The Aggies will continue the 2013 outdoor season as they travel to Sacramento State for the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge on Thursday thru Saturday, April 11-13. Utah State will host their lone home meet of the year, the Mark Faldmo Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium in Logan, Utah.
