Utah State Track & Field Returns to Beehive State for Pair of In-State Meets
April 10, 2014
Logan, Utah -
Utah State's men and women's track & field teams have spent much of this outdoor season traveling around the country, from Oregon to Texas to California. It will be a much shorter trip for the Aggies this weekend, as they will take part in two in-state meets. USU will travel to Salt Lake City on Friday, Apr. 11 for the Utah Spring Classic and then make the short trip to Ogden for the Weber State Innovation Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 12.
The Utah Spring Classic will begin Friday at 2:30 p.m. (MT) with the women's hammer throw. Competition in Salt Lake City will conclude with the men and women's 100m dash at 7:35 p.m. Action at the Weber State Innovation Invitational will start on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw and will wrap up with the men and women's 4x100m relay races at 3:15 p.m.
"We're coming off some great performances at the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival," said Aggie veteran coach Gregg Gensel. "We want to use this weekend to get our feet back under us and keep the kids from getting worn out from travel. We're going to some local meets to continue to improve on our performances."
A recap, including Utah State results will be posted to www.UtahStateAggies.com following this weekends action.
