LOGAN, Utah - Tiffany Strickland was voted as Utah State's Athlete of the Week on Monday after winning the 3000-meter steeplechase at the UCLA Invitational over the weekend.

Strickland, a sophomore from Orem, Utah had a personal-best time of 10:56.37 in the event, which is also a NCAA Regional Qualifying mark.

Utah State's track and field teams return to action this weekend as they host the Mark Faldmo Invitational on Sat., April 17 at the Ralph Maughan Track Stadium. Field events begin at 9 a.m. with the hammer throw, while running events will begin at 11 a.m. with the steeplechase.

Nominees From Other Sports Included:

Men's Track - David Danley... Was one of five Aggies to notch victories over the weekend as he won the 5000-meters at the UCLA Invitational with a personal-best time of 14:34.51.

Men's Golf - Cody Huot... Lead Utah State at the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Golf Tournament last week as he tied for 45th with a 14-over par 230 in the two-day event, including a one-over par 73 in the final round.

Women's Tennis - Courtney Anderson... Led Utah State last week as she recorded a 1-1 record at the number four singles spot with a 6-0, 7-6 win against Idaho. She also teamed with Richelle Moon to notch an 8-6 win at number two doubles over the Vandals.

Men's Tennis - Ryan Bair... Recorded his second straight singles victory as he defeated Pacific's Robert Price at the number six spot, 6-2, 6-2. Bair is now 3-5 at that spot on the season.

Softball - Casey Smith... Tallied four RBIs in Utah State's 9-6 loss to in-state rival Southern Utah with her first home run of the season, a three-run shot. The Aggies went 0-5 for the week as they dropped their doubleheader with Southern Utah, and were swept in a three-game series with No. 22 Long Beach State.
