Utah State Track Heads To BYU For Robison Invitational

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's track teams are set to compete at the Robison Invitational in Provo on Friday, Apr. 28, and Saturday, Apr. 29. Teams competing are BYU, Idaho State, Southern Utah, and Weber State.
At last year's meet DJ Smith was the only Aggie athlete to finish in first place in any of the events. Smith had a first place finish in the 200-meters, with a winning time of 21.46. Smith also defended his 100-meter title, with a time of 10.57 at the invitational for the second year in a row.
The Aggies head off to Provo coming off strong finishes at Saturday's Mark Faldmo Invitational where Smith clinched first place in the 200-meters with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 20.96, the third fastest mark in Utah State outdoor history at 20.96. Smith also was part of the 4x100 relay team that clinched first place setting a season best mark with a time of 40.64.
Junior Scott Bell had a personal best mark and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 400-meter hurdles (51.32) coming in second place. Bell also captured second in the 110-meter hurdles with another NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 14.39.
Senior Lacey Hulbert finished strong at the Idaho State DEC/HEP meet on Saturday setting an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the heptathlon accumulating 5,2124 points, which is a personal best mark for Hulbert and the third best mark in Utah State outdoor history.
The Aggies head to Weber State on Friday, May 5.
