Spent two years at Salt Lake Community College and helped the Bruins to an 11th-place finish at the 2006 National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament... As a sophomore, she played in 69 games and averaged 1.32 kills, 0.78 digs and 0.46 blocks per game.
Earned second-team all-state honors as a prep senior at Bear River High School as she helped lead her team to a sixth-place finish in the state tournament... Was named her team's Most Valuable Player during her senior year as she recorded 253 kills, 162 digs, 41 blocks and 23 service aces... Was also a member of the softball team and earned first-team all-state honors as her team won the state championship in 2001 and finished third in 2004... Played basketball during her freshmen year as she helped Bear River go to nationals for the first time in school history.
Born April 7, 1987 in Logan, Utah... One of two children of Reggie and Mary Ann Petersen... Her husband Gary is a junior on Utah State's men's basketball team... Enjoys spending time outdoors and with family and friends... Majoring in elementary education at Utah State.
