Volleyball Loses At Brigham Young In Four Games

PROVO, Utah - Utah State's women's volleyball team lost a four-game match (30-24, 24-30, 26-30, 14-30) at Brigham Young Saturday night to fall to 4-4 on the season. BYU improved to 5-0 on the year with the win.
Redshirt sophomore Beth Hodge (Broken Arrow,Okla.) and senior Zuzana Cernianska (Prague, Czech Republic) each recorded 11 kills for Utah State, while Kelsi Peterson (Las Vegas, Nev.) had a team-high 11 digs.
Chelsea Goodman led Brigham Young with 20 kills and hit .438 in the match.
Utah State held Brigham Young to a .226 hitting percentage in the opening game en route to the six-point win even though USU hit .207 as a team. The Cougars then hit .325 in the second game, .515 in the third game and .500 in the fourth game to notch the win. The Aggies struggled in game two hitting only .083, and concluded the match by hitting a negative .136 in the fourth game.
Overall, BYU recorded 66 kills in the match as compared to just 42 for Utah State.
Utah State will return to action on Tues., Sept. 13 as it travels to Ogden to face Weber State University at 7 p.m.
