LOGAN, Utah - Senior Zuzana Cernianska (Prague, Czech Republic) hit a blistering .484 with a match-high 18 kills to lead Utah State's women's volleyball team to a three-game win (30-26, 30-19, 30-17) at Boise State Thursday night in Western Athletic Conference volleyball. USU improves to 10-6 overall and 3-0 in the WAC with the win, while BSU falls to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in league play with the loss.
Both teams registered 14 kills in the opening game, but Utah State had two fewer hitting errors (8-6) as the Aggies notched the four-point win. The final two games were all Utah State as USU hit .448 in game two and .421 in game three, while Boise State hit .200 in game two and just .133 in the third and final game.
Jeanette Jenkins led Boise State with 12 kills.
Overall, Utah State hit .363 as compared to a .162 hitting percentage for Boise State. USU also recorded 13 more kills (50-37), 14 more digs (44-30) and five more service aces (8-3) in the match while hitting seven fewer errors (20-13).
Utah State will return to action on Sat., Oct. 1 when it plays at the University of Idaho.
