LOGAN, Utah - Beth Hodge recorded a match-high 19 kills to go along with 12 digs to lead Utah State's women's volleyball team to a four-game win (32-30, 26-30, 30-19, 30-28) against Utah Valley State here Monday night.
Utah State improves to 13-7 on the season with the win and has now won seven of its last eight matches. Utah Valley State falls to 7-8 on the year with the loss.
Erin Graybill added 13 kills and a career-high 11 blocks, and hit a blistering .385 in the match, while Ingrid Roth added 11 kills and five blocks. Zuzana Cernianska also notched double-digits in kills with 10 for USU, while Kelsi Peterson paced the Aggies with a match-high 18 digs.
Camie Manwill led Utah Valley State with 19 kills, while Anne Olsen added 14 kills.
Utah State hit .273 in the match, while Utah Valley State hit .218. USU recorded just three more kills (66-63) and five fewer hitting errors (29-24) in the match, and had just one more service ace (9-8) and three more digs (55-52) than the Wolverines. The difference in the match came at the net as Utah State recorded 17.5 team blocks to UVSC's 10.0 team blocks.
Utah State will return to action on Sat., Oct. 15 as it travels to Reno, Nev., to face Western Athletic Conference foe Nevada. The Wolf Pack and Aggies are tied for second-place in the WAC with identical 5-1 league records.
