MOSCOW, Idaho - Utah State's women's volleyball team lost a four-set match (25-22, 8-25, 24-26, 16-25) to Idaho here Thursday night in Western Athletic Conference action. USU, who has now lost two straight matches, falls to 5-12 overall and 3-3 in league play with the loss. Idaho improves to 11-6 on the season and 4-2 in the WAC with the win.

Senior outside hitter Melissa Osterloh led Utah State with 13 kills, while sophomore setter Chelsea Fowles hit .500 (5-1-8) in the match and added 33 assists, 11 digs and three blocks.

Haley Larsen had a match-high 21 kills for Idaho and hit .381 (21-5-42) overall, and Anna McKinney added nine kills and 10 blocks.

Utah State played very well in the opening set as it hit .226 (12-5-31) and limited Idaho to a .118 (12-8-34) hitting percentage en route to the three-point win.

Idaho stormed back in set two as it hit .600 (9-0-15) as compared to a negative .269 (4-11-26) hitting percent for Utah State as it coasted to the 25-8 win.

In the third set, UI notched the two-point win as it hit .189 (11-4-37) and USU .171 (16-9-41). And in the fourth set, the Vandals hit .355 (14-3-31) and held the Aggies to .059 (11-9-34) hitting percentage to finish the match.

Idaho hit .265 (46-15-117) overall as compared to a .068 (43-34-132) hitting percentage for Utah State. The Vandals also had 12 more team blocks (18-6), three more service aces (7-4) and four fewer service errors (11-7) in the match, while the Aggies had one more dig (45-44).

Utah State will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Boise State at 7 p.m.
