LOGAN, Utah - Senior middle blocker Erin Cartwright-Davis (Hyrum, Utah) hit a career-high .667 with 17 kills to lead Utah State's women's volleyball team to a three-game win (30-18, 30-13, 30-20) over UC Riverside here Saturday night. With the win, USU improves to 12-7 on the season and 5-4 in the Big West Conference, while UCR falls to 7-13 overall and 2-7 in league play with the loss.
"We felt like we played a little better than we did against Cal State Fullerton the other night," said Utah State head coach Burt Fuller. "We were a lot more efficient putting balls away tonight and by doing that we didn't give them (UC Riverside) chances to use their hitters."
Cartwright-Davis led the Aggies in the opening game with seven kills as Utah State used an early 6-1 run to take control and coast to the 30-18 win as USU hit .415 in the opening game as compared to just .116 for UC Riverside.
In game two, Utah State scored six of the first seven points and then scored 10 straight points midway through the game to extend its lead to 22-7 en route to the 30-13 win. The Aggies hit a blistering .480 in the game, while the Highlanders hit a negative .206. In the third and final game, USU held a slim 9-8 advantage before scoring eight of the next 10 points to take control and notch the three-game sweep.

Sophomore outside hitter Jamie DeKiewiet led UC Riverside with 13 kills and seven digs.
