Volleyball Loses At 11th-Ranked Hawai'i

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's volleyball team lost a three-game match to 11th-ranked Hawai'i here Thursday night by final scores of 30-20, 30-28, and 30-19. With the loss, USU falls to 13-9 overall and 5-3 in the Western Athletic Conference, while Hawai'i improves to 14-6 on the year and 8-0 in league play with the win.
Ingrid Roth hit a team-high .438 in the match as she recorded 10, and Erin Graybill added nine kills and four blocks while hitting .381. Zuzana Cernianska led the Aggies with 13 kills, but hit just .118, while Beth Hodge had 10 kills.
Hawai'i was led by Sarah Mason who had a match-high 15 kills, while Tara Hittle added 10 kills and 12 digs.
Utah State hit .193 in the match as compared to a .361 hitting percentage for Hawai'i. Overall, the Rainbow Wahine had nine more kills (55-46), three more team blocks (7-4), and 11 fewer hitting errors (23-12).
Utah State returns to action on Mon., Oct. 24 when it hosts Fresno State in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 7 p.m.
