Volleyball Moves Up In National Rankings
Oct. 16, 2000 LOGAN, Utah - After remaining at No. 25 in the country the past two weeks, Utah State's women's volleyball team climbed three spots to No. 22 in the country in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Poll after a pair of wins this past week over then No. 15 Utah and Boise State. The past three weeks are the first time ever that USU has been ranked in the NCAA's in volleyball. USU is also 21st in the country in the Volleyball Magazine Monthly Poll. Utah State is 14-5 on the season and 5-2 in the Big West Conference, one game out of first-place. The Aggies are 3-3 on the season versus Top-20 teams, posting wins over BYU (then ranked #10), UC Santa Barbara (then ranked #9), and Utah (then ranked #15). USU's three losses on the year to ranked opponents came versus Kansas State (then ranked #17), Pacific (then ranked #14), and Long Beach State (then ranked #18).
