Sept. 29, 2007
EUGENE, Ore. -
Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Bill Dellinger Invitational at the University of Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 29 with the men's team placing 13th, while the women's team finished 14th.
"I thought we ran solid for the competition," said Utah State head coach Greg Gensel. "Overall we improved and that was the key. We did pretty well against the top ranked teams we ran against. The placements may not seem that great but we took some steps to becoming a better team."
Junior Seth Wold led the Aggie men placing 31st in the 8,000 meter race with a time of 24:03. USU sophomore Jason Holt finished with a time of 24:52 taking 68th, while freshman Chio Lopez placed 77th with a time of 25:02.
On the women's side, Aggie senior Stacie Dorius led the team in the 6,000-meter race, placing 55th with a time of 21:33. Fellow senior Amy Egan clocked a time of 21:44 to take 66th and junior Caroline Berry came in five seconds later at 21:49 to place 73rd.
