Cross Country Fares Well at Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Notre Dame Invitational Friday afternoon, taking 11th and 14th place respectively, each competing in a field of 25 teams.
Senior Trevor Ball led the Aggie men with a 16th place finish on the five mile course in 24:07, while junior Tiffany Strickland led the women, taking a 19th place finish in 17:32 on the 5K course. Clark Bryner and Vance Twitchell also finished in the top 50 for the men at 33rd and 50th in 24:32 and 24:51. Amy Egan was the second USU woman to cross the line with a time of 17:57, placing 56th.
A total of 58 schools sent squads to compete at the Notre Dame Invitational. Fifth ranked Michigan walked away with the victory for the women, whiles eighth ranked Arizona took the top spot for the men.
The Aggies will run again at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. on Oct. 15.
