Utah State Women's Cross Country Picked Fifth, Men Sixth, in Mountain West Preseason Poll

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's cross country team was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West Preseason Poll, released Thursday by the conference office, as voted on by the coaches. The Aggie men's team garnered the sixth-spot in their poll.
The Aggie women earned 61 points from voters, while their male counterparts received a total of 22 points. Both the women's and the men's poll were topped by New Mexico, last year's Mountain West Champions on both the women's and men's side.
Utah State Cross Country will open the season on Aug. 30 at the home Aggie Invitational, set to be held at the Innovation Campus Wellness Park in Logan, Utah.
In their first season in the Mountain West, Utah State's women's cross country team finished fifth, while the male Aggie harriers placed sixth in the conference. Eric Shellhorn and Ashley Robison were the top finishers for their respective USU teams. Shellhorn finished in sixth, earning first-team all-Mountain West honors while Robison placed 14th to earn a spot on the second-team all-conference squad. Both the men and women's team garnered 11th-place at the NCAA Mountain Regionals.
