Cross Country Set To Compete At BYU Autumn Open On Saturday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams will continue its schedule this weekend when it heads to Provo, Utah for the Brigham Young Autumn Open on Saturday, Sept. 6. The meet will start at 10 a.m. with the men running four miles, followed by the women running a 5k.
Utah State began its 2008 season last weekend as it hosted the Utah State Open with the Aggie women finishing first and the men placing second. Highlighting the women's performance was freshman Jessie Chugg who finished the 5K race in third-place with a time of 17:58.60. Senior Ben Kessen was the men's top finisher as he placed third in the four-mile run with a time of 19:47.3.
"We saw what we think our potential is from our home meet last weekend," said veteran USU head coach Gregg Gensel, "The next step in our progression is to improve this weekend and get a step closer in accomplishing our goals for the season."
Also attending the BYU Autumn Open are athletes from Nebraska, Idaho State, Utah Valley University, Utah, BYU and San Bernardino Junior College.
The Aggies will continue action on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Montana State Invitational in Bozeman, Mont.
