Logan, Utah -

Utah State men and women's cross country teams will continue the 2013 season on Friday, September 13 by traveling south for the Utah Valley Invitational in Orem, Utah.

The event will take place at Lakeside Park beginning at 11 a.m. (MT) with the men's four-mile race, followed by the women's five-kilometer at 11:45 a.m.

USU will compete against athletes from four other schools, including Utah Valley, Southern Utah, Wyoming and Westminster College.

"This is an event where we want to run an extra meet and give our younger kids a chance to prove themselves and get some more experience before we get into the meat of our season," said veteran Aggie head coach Gregg Gensel.

Utah State started the 2013 season by hosting the Aggie Invitational at the Innovation Campus Wellness Park in Logan. Both the Aggie men and women won the event, with senior Kyle McKenna and freshman Tori Parkinson finishing first in their respective races.

Results for the Utah Valley Invitational will be posted to www.utahstateaggies.com at the conclusion of the races.

Following this weekend, USU cross country will return to action at the 2013 MSU Invitational in Bozeman, Mont. on Saturday, Sept. 21.
