Sept. 20, 2013
Logan, Utah -
Utah State's men and women's cross country teams continue their 2013 campaign by heading north to the Big Sky State for the Bozeman Running Company Montana State Invitational, held at Bridger Creek Golf Course, in Bozeman, Mont.
The men's race will consist of a five-mile run and the women will be running a three-mile course. The men will kick-off the event at 9 a.m. (MT) and will be followed by the women at 9:45 a.m.
The Aggies will be competing against several other Division I schools, including Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Northern Colorado, Utah and Utah Valley. Additionally, many lower level teams will compete in a separate small school's division.
"We're excited for our first road meet out of the state of Utah. This is traditionally a really good meet and we enjoy going to Bozeman. There will be lots of talented competition that our kids don't normally run against, which will be good preparation for conference and region meets at the end of the season, as we continue to get better each week to peak at the end of the year. "
In the latest Mountain Region team rankings from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), USU's women's team was ranked 11th, while the men's team was slotted 12th.
Results for the MSU Bozeman Running Company Invitational will be posted to www.utahstateaggies.com at the conclusion of the races.
Utah State cross country returns to action Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Lehigh Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Penn.
