USU Cross Country To Compete At Roy Griak Invitational Saturday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the 27th annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn., on Saturday Sept. 29.
USU's men enter the week ranked 10th in the Mountain Region, according to the latest rankings released by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Aggie women also made the list, ranking 14th in the Mountain Region.
Action kicks off for Utah State's men in the Merrill Fischbein Men's Gold Competition at 11:20 a.m. (MT), followed by the USU women in the Jack Johnson Women's Gold Competition at 12:10 p.m.
"This is a really big meet and we have been showing big improvements from camp to our first meet and to our second meet, but they were all smaller, low-key meets," said Aggie veteran head coach Gregg Gensel. "This is going to be an eye-opener for some of our young runners, but I think it is going to be a good test for our better runners and our team."
Results from the Roy Griak Invitaitonal will be posted for fans to view at www.utahstateaggies.com.
Action continues for USU's cross country teams at Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday October 13. The 2012 Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La., Saturday October 27.
