Utah State Has 112 Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-WAC Honors This Spring

Of its 57 academic all-WAC selections from its spring sports, Utah State had 23 student-athletes from women's outdoor track honored, along with 15 from men's outdoor track, six from softball, five from both men's tennis and women's tennis, and three from the men's golf team.

Earned the USU team honor for H. Cecil Baker Most Valuable Player award, as voted on by teammates... Collected honorable mention all-Mountain West accolades, marking second year in a row to earn all-conference honors, after garnering second-team all-WAC honors and named to WAC all-Newcomer team in 2012-13... Started all 32 games, only one of two Aggies to start all 32 games and one of four to play in every game... Averaged 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists while playing 30.5 minutes per game... Named the WAC Player of the Week on both 2/11/13 and 3/10/13... Named MVP of the Basketball Travelers, Inc. Classic, sponsored by Gossner Foods and tabbed to the All-Tournament Team... Led the MW in three-point field goal percentage at 46.0 percent (69-of-150), also ranking 20th in scoring (12.9) and 16th in rebounding (6.2). Made 69 three-pointers in 32 games to rank fifth in three-pointers made with 2.2... In MW only stats, ranked second in three-point field goal percentage (.460), while ranking fourth in three-point field goals made (2.2), as well as 19th in scoring (12.8) and 16th in rebounds (5.8)... Netted career-high 31 points against UC Santa Barbara (12/20/13), adding 10 rebounds for first double-double of season and eighth of his career... Logged second double-double of season and ninth of career against Nevada (2/5/14) with 20 points and 11 rebounds... Started last 56-straight games played... Scored in double-figures in 25 games this season and in 44 of last 55 career games played... Had streak of double-digit scoring snapped at 10 games with five against Utah Valley (12/14/13)... Pulled down four or more rebounds in 29 of the 32 games this season as part of a total of 52 times in career... Netted career-high six three-pointers at San José State (3/1/14)... The sharpshooting senior made at least one three-pointer in 30 of the 32 games this season, with the New Mexico game (1/28/14) and San Diego State (3/13/14) as the lone games without at trey... He made a triple in 53 of last 57 games... Had 21 multi three-pointer games this season, including 15 of last 21 games, as part of 35 career multi three-pointer games, including new career-best with six triples at San José State (3/1/14), adding five treys against Colorado State (1/15/14)... 2012-13 SEASON (JR):

Earned second-team all-WAC honors and named to WAC all-newcomer team... Named the WAC Player of the Week on both Feb. 11 and March 10... Started 24 of 29 games played... Averaged 12.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in playing 29.3 minutes per contest... Made 49.8 percent from the field (120-of-241), netting 42.5 percent behind the arc (48-of-113) and 83.5 percent at the charity stripe (66-of-79)... Missed the game at UT Arlington (3/2) due to an injury, but returned to action against Texas State (3/7) with a career-high 20 rebounds and 10 points... The 20 rebounds was most by an Aggie player since 1997 and were the most in the WAC during the season, as well as tied for the fifth-most in the NCAA... Had seven double-doubles on the season, most recently with a career-high 20 rebounds and 10 points in the March 7 win over Texas State... Had streak of five-straight double-doubles, halted with 18 points and six rebounds in Denver game (2/14), adding three assists and two steals, then tallying 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in NMSU game (2/16), but then posted sixth double-double of season with team-high 21 points and game-high 14 rebounds at BYU (2/19)... Posted 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in the win over Illinois State (2/23), adding seven points, six rebounds and one assist at Louisiana Tech (2/28) before leaving with injury and did not play at UT Arlington (3/2)... Started his spurt of five double-doubles in a row with a career-high 23 points and added a then career-best 11 rebounds against UT Arlington (1/24), then posted 16 points and a new career-high with 15 rebounds in home loss to Louisiana Tech (1/26)... Also logged 11 points and 10 rebounds at Idaho (1/31), then posted 13 points and 11 boards at Seattle (2/2) before 22 points and 10 rebounds at SJSU (2/8)... Posted 19 double-digit scoring outings in the last 24 games, and had pulled down four or more rebounds in 23 total games... Filled in splendidly at starting forward for Danny Berger, scoring 328 points in 24 games as a starter, averaging 13.7 points per game as a starter after averaging 5.0 points per game in the first five games of the season off the bench... Ended with a season average of 12.2 points per game... Led the team in three-pointers with 48, and was also first on the team in three-point percentage (48-of-113), making 42.5 percent behind the arc... The sharpshooting junior made a three-pointer in 23 of his last 25 games and had 14 multi three-pointer games, including a season-high four treys each against UTA and UC Davis, adding three at Texas State, Seattle and San Jose State, before netting three treys in home finale vs. UTSA ... Also dished out a career-high nine assists at Texas State, USU's highest by an individual on the season, as part of 14 games with three or more helpers... Led the WAC in free throw percentage both overall (.835) and league only games (.837)... Ranked 11th in the WAC in scoring overall (12.2), while ranking ninth in league games (13.3)... Also was fourth in the conference in overall three-point field goal percentage (.425), while ranking sixth in conference games (.408), in addition to being eighth in overall three-pointers made (1.66) and 10th in WAC only games (1.71)... Ranked sixth in field goal percentage overall (.498) and ninth in league games (.497), as well as ninth in rebounds overall (6.6) and sixth in league contests (7.6), in addition to standing 13th in the WAC overall in assists (2.66) and 10th in WAC only games (3.18)... Also was eighth in assist-turnover ratio in WAC only games (1.69), while ranking ninth in league only games for minutes played (32.53).


As a sophomore at Yuba (Calif.) Community College, was named the California Junior College Co-Player of the Year as he averaged 16.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game, while shooting 54.1 percent from the field (186-of-344), 47.6 percent from three-point range (70-of-147) and 81.7 percent at the free throw line (125-of-153)... As a sophomore, he led the 49ers to a 33-4 record and an appearance in the title game of California Community College Athletic Association state championship... Was also named the Bay Valley Conference Most Valuable Player after leading the 49ers to a perfect 11-0 league record... During the 2011-12 season, he scored in double-figures 25 times to go along with 12 double-figure rebounding games as he finished the year with nine double-doubles... Scored 20-plus points 10 times including a career-high 42 points against Merritt College as he was 13-of-18 from the field, 7-of-10 from three-point range and 9-for-10 at the free throw line... Also had 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals in the game... As a freshman at Yuba CC, he averaged approximately 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds as he earned first-team all-conference honors.


Prepped at Del Oro High School in Loomis, Calif., where he earned first-team all-state honors in basketball as both a junior and senior in the Sierra Foothill League... As a prep senior, he averaged nearly 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.... Also excelled in football at Del Oro HS as he had 96 catches for 1,616 yards and 14 touchdowns over his two-year varsity career with the Golden Eagles.
