A pure point guard with lots of abilities... Provides size and physicality to the point guard position... Loves the game and works hard at improving his skills... Expected to continue to develop as he adapts to college game as well as to improve outside shooting.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Earned first-team all-region and first-team all-state honors from both the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News as he helped the Caveman to a 19-3 record and a co-Region 4 championship while teammates with fellow USU freshman Quincy Bair... Averaged 10.5 points, 5.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game as a prep senior, while shooting 57.1 percent from the field (72-126), 20.4 percent from three-point range (10-49) and 70.0 percent at the free throw line (56-80)... Scored in double-figures 11 times during his senior season including a season-high 17 points at Corona del Sol (Ariz.) High School... Also had one double-double during the year with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds against Syracuse High School... Recorded a career-high 11 assists against Desert Vista (Ariz.) High School and had 10 assists versus Riverton High School... Had a career-best seven steals against Mountain View High School... Also earned first-team all-state honors from both the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News as a prep junior after leading the Cavemen to a 22-5 record including a 10-2 league mark... During his junior season, he averaged 12.0 points, 4.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, while scoring in double-figures 17 times... He posted 20-plus points in three different games including a career-high 25 points against Hillcrest High School... Finished his junior year with a double-double as he had 17 points and 12 rebounds against Lone Peak High School in the 5A championship game... Was ranked as the 27th-best overall prospect on the West Coast by ESPN.com following his junior season... Averaged 9.3 points, 4.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals as a sophomore as he scored in double-figures nine times and posted one double-double... Played for the Utah Pump N' Run AAU team that advanced to the semifinals of the Adidas Super 64 during the summer of 2011.
