Moore is a 6-7 wing, who is a local product from Smithfield, Utah, where he averaged 15 points and five rebounds per game as a junior at Sky View High School. Last season, Moore earned all-region and second-team all-state honors, in helping the Bobcats to the co-region title, and a berth in the 4A state tournament. Moore also plays for the Pump N' Run AAU team, leading them to the Las Vegas Live Tournament title this past summer. Moore also competes on the Sky View track & field team, where he was the state runner-up in the high jump at the 4A state championships as a sophomore. He is the son of Jimmy Moore, who played basketball at USU from 1972-75, and still ranks 24th all-time in school history with 1,164 career points and No. 15 all-time in rebounds with 652. Jimmy Moore is currently the director of compliance for Utah State Athletics.

"Jalen has a very bright future as an Aggie. He is a long, athletic wing with excellent skills. Jalen is a high character young man because of the things he was taught at home. As he gains strength, his game will continue to grow and Aggie fans will love seeing a hometown kid develop and be successful," Morrill said.
